Essence & the lovely little things trend edition review and swatches

Essence is back with the cutest collection. In general Essence is geared towards a younger population and it really shows with &the lovely little things collection. The packaging is adorable but if you're in your twenties it might be too childish. What got me was obviously the cat on the palette packaging and the palette itself, so when I got the opportunity to test products from & the lovely little things this is what I chose to test.

Essence & the lovely little things ...& my crazy family face palette* (6.49€)
It has a cat on it. Period :) The packaging is made from hard white plastic and feels very sturdy and secure. The palette contains two highlighters, two blushes and two bronzers. First row:
- warm rose coral blush with tinny gold shimmer
- warm highlighter with gold shimmer
- slightly cool bronzer
Second row:
- warm bronzer
- cool highlighter with silver and purple shimmer
- dusty rose blush

Swatches on direct sunlight (left to right, top row to bottom row):

My absolute fave is the gold highlighter and the dusty rose blush. Both bronzers are a big miss for me, too dark, orange and very similar. It's a shame because with a lighter bronzer and a cool contour this would make the perfect travel palette. All 6 shades are nicely pigmented but they do dust. They are easy to blend and last a decent amount of time.

Essence & the lovely little things ...& we kissed lip balm* (2.49€)
Essence & the lovely little things ...& we kissed lip balm comes in a pencil form, pink version has a strawberry scent and I received the pastel orange version which smells like mango. I also smell peach which is my favourite fruit scent. The packaging feels sturdy but I do fear that I will lose the cap somewhere in my bag.

The packaging is a bit deceiving, the product doesn't actually go all the way down the tube. ...& we kissed doesn't have a any pigment to it, it just leaves a clear shiny layer on the lips. It does nourish the lips but it's not a heavy duty lip balm. The texture is very soft but it survives summer heat just fine. Staying power is as you would expect from a light lip balm, you need to reapply it frequently.

Essence  & the lovely little things left me with mixed feelings. I'm a bit disappointed with the palette because it has so much potential: I love half of it but the other half leaves me cold. The lip balm is a cute little products to throw in the bag.
Essence & the lovely little things kolekcija je na voljo v drogerijah DM, Muller, trgovini Interspar Citypark Ljubljana n E. Leclerc do sredine septembra.
