Long time no post :) There has been a lack of posts for the past month and I feel it's right to give you all a quick update. Life has been pretty hectic lately, I've been super busy with my job (yay 10+ hour long shifts). While I love it and it's rewarding, after coming home in the evening all I see is my bed. On the weekends I like to recharge my batteries and spend some quality time with my pets and loved ones. On top of that I've been having problems with my camera, it's getting old and it would need to be replaced. But honestly this are all...well I wouldn't call them excuses, because they are valid reasons not to blog, but they are not the main reason I don't feel like blogging.
The truth is, blogging community changed a lot and not necessarily for the better. It all feels like a big competition who's the best, who gets invited to events, who get sent PR products... It also doesn't help that the companies started to realize how influential the voice of bloggers can be. I will admit, it feels good when a company notices you and sends you products to test out and I'm always thankful. But it can cause a strain on you and sometimes you start pressuring yourself to post about the product although no company every forced me to make a post. Soon you find yourself stuck, posting about products you think you should and not what you'd really want. Reviewing PR products can however quickly go sour and it's one of my biggest pet peeves when bloggers don't state in the post that the products were send to them. Or when a company sends them skin care and bam, thee days later a full review on the blog. Yeah I'm sure you really tested the product and I totally believe you when you say it's the best thing ever. Until you get the next product sent to you ;) You get the picture.
Sometimes bloggers also get too entitled. There are of course some exceptions but we aren't cosmetologist, doctors, personal trainers, dietitians... Sometimes I see such shit spewed out that I almost feel ashamed for the blogger. If you don't have a legit qualification please do not give "professional" advice. And I know, I can just ignore bloggers/posts like that and do my thing. But it's still part of blogging community and you kinda can't escape it.
Not all bloggers are like that, there are many amazing Slovenian bloggers that I really trust and enjoy reading such as Polona, Petra, Mateja, Sanja and others.
From time to time I like to go back and read my very old blogposts. The pictures were horrible, text was sloppy but I still remember what joy it was to write a blogpost and press "publish", how fulfilling it all was.
I am rambling but honestly I don't even know where I wanna go with this post and my blog. I hope to find that passion for blogging I once had. Congrats if you made it through this post and I hope you'll soon read my new blogpost.
Thanks for stopping by**
