Review: Avon Magic effects Liquid sequin

Pozdravljeni!

Bleščice so zelo popularne v prazničnem času, a odlično popestrijo dneve čez celo leto.

Review: Essence Winter? Wonderful! lip oil and blush

Hello!

Winter? Wonderful! Those of you that have been following me for a while know that I absolutely love winter. You can imagine how happy I was when Essence Slovenija team surprised me with lip oil and blush. This collection is supposedly already out in the stores but I haven't seen it in person.

November favourites

Hello!
We sound like broken records but seriously, where did November go? Days just seem to slip by more and more. I had a very busy month (as you can see by my lack of posting) and December is gonna be even worse :D I still managed to find some picks worth mentioning.

Battle of advent calendars 2015: Alessandro vs. Essence

Hello!

Who buys two Advent calendars? A person who dislikes anything catholic related :D But it's cosmetics so let's go with that ;)

This is my first year having calendars and I decided to get one from Essence and one from Alessandro. Since they're both nail polish related I decided to have a daily battle of who did it best. I will update this post daily and also post on my Facebook page. Alessandro retailed for around 50€ and Essence for around 30€ so it's not really an even field but we'll see who the end winner will be.

L'Occitane praznične novosti: prvi vtisi

Pozdravljene!

7 top hand and nail products for Fall and Winter

Hello!

Winter is slowly creeping up on us. While I love snow, low temperatures and warm drinks I don't love the state of my hand. Combine cold, central heating with dry air and you got yourself a hand situation. My skin gets extra dry and my nails start breaking more. On top of that I work with latex gloves for hours at time and use lots of hand sanitisers. This year I decided to fight back :) Since the beginning of this month I've been religiously using a wide selection of products to prepare my hands.

Avon Modern romance (Desire, Sinful romance and Modern edge)

Hello!

Recently Avon surprised me with a huge package of their goodies. I received nail polishes from three different lines, cuticle cream and a fast drying
polish spray. Today, I will briefly present a part of their Modern romance collection.

Avon Modern romance Sinful romance is a real chameleon with a purple base, mixed with shades of gray. Definitely a very Fall appropriate shade.
Avon Modern romance Desire is a gray creme shade, which reminds me of Essie Chinchilly. It's a fairly neutral shade that doesn't give you the "mannequin hands" effect.
Avon Modern Romance Modern Edge is a chocolate brown polish without any red undertones, which are usually present in dark brown polishes.
All three shades have great pigmentation and could be opaque in one thicker coat.

I decided to first try out Sinful romance. My previous experiences with Avon were really good so I wasn't surprised with the quality of Sinful romance's formula and brush. My manicure with top coat remained intact for about 5 days.

Zdravo!

Pred kratkim me je Avon presenetil z ogromnim paketom dobrot.

October favourites

Hello!

I decided to start posting a few non polish related posts a month simply because my life has gotten a bit crazy which means less time for nails. I could just swatch over the weekend but I'm not a swatcher, I only show you manis that I actually wear. My nails are pretty healthy and I normally remove nail polish every three days, not out of need but out of boredom. Now days are more hectic and sometimes I just wanna leave nail polish on for five or more days and then I'd have a problem trying to post just nails twice a week. Fear not, this will still be a nail themed blog. Now that we cleared that out, let's check my favourite products :)

China glaze It's alive (Haunting Halloween collection 2011)

Hello!

Boy am I late with this polish? Yes, it came out in 2011 :)

China glaze It's Alive is dusty green jelly filled with hexagon and round green glitter. It's completely opaque in two thin coats and very easy to work with. The name is quite fitting since it does eat top coat like crazy :) I think it's a perfect choice for tonight but I can see how some people wouldn't like this polish :)

Happy Halloween to everyone, have fun and eat some candy <3

Halloween mani (Nail2Express collaboration)

Hello!

At the moment my nails would be Halloween appropriate on their own, broken and bruised :D Since I started my job at the beginning of this month my hands have taken a bit of a beating. All the breakage details go on my Instagram or Facebook page so check them out if you're feeling sadistic. But Halloween is my favourite holiday so I had to do a themed mani. This year I teamed up with the talented Katja from Nail2Express. Thanks again Katja for considering me, I'm truly flattered <3
Katja decided to go for black and gold theme (go check her mani here) and I went with a vampy theme.

For the base I used Essence Take my red away form Legends of the sky trend edition. Gradient was made with L'Oreal Laetitia and Essence Black is back. For the damask stamp I used my fave stamping plate MoYou Fashionista 07 and Konad Black.

I'm most proud of my middle finger :D This was my first attempt with acrylic paint and free-hand drawing. It's not perfect but I think it still looks good. I am currently still wearing this mani but it won't last on me till Halloween. I will probably do the same mani as last year, quick and easy (click)

Bloggers unite: Pink October

Hello!

As you all know, October is breast cancer awareness month. This year, Slovenian bloggers decided to commemorate it by posting a pink post today (I'm a bit late as always *.*)
My mani is pink and cute but sadly there is nothing cute about breast cancer. Breast cancer is the type of cancer that causes the most deaths annually among women and it can happen to any of us. So I cannot stress enough how important self examination is. It's never too early to start and if you're not already practicing it, here is a link with more information (click). For all the patients out there, keep on fighting! <3

For this mani I used OPI Koala bear-y, Kiko multi effect 03 Cupcake Rose & Starry Crimson, Flormar glitter GL02 and MoYou Biker collection 05 stamping plate.

You can check the amazing post of other bloggers bellow <3

Catrice It's a very berry bash

Hello!
The color that absolutely screams Autumn is red ❤ Maybe that explains why I've been wearing it so much lately :) Catrice It's a very berry bash is a perfect example. This gorgeous red creme was a part of the Catrice goody bag we received at the Beautiful Blogger Meetup

I must admit I stayed clear of Catrice polish but It's a very berry bash might change that. The formula is amazing and it looks like they actually fixed the brush, which was the biggest problem for me.
It's a very berry bash is a dark plumy red, with thin yet pigmented formula. It's very glossy on it's own but I added fast drying topcoat
The lasting power is amazing as well. I've been super busy and I didn't have the time/will to change my polish. Luckily there was no need for it, on day 6 I only had some minor tipwear. Then I tore my nail and I had to remove nail polish so that I could glue my nail back together #GlueKeepsMyLifeTogether
If you're on a lookout for a staple Autumn polish then I strongly recommend It's a very berry bash.

Review: Lace stickers

Hello!

Sometimes you have to face your fears even if that means using stickers on your nails. I try to stay clear from them because my nail bed are very curved. Too be honest, it's more a mistake than bravery :) While I was browsing Lady queen site I was thinking they were water decals (which I like). You can imagine my surprise when I got them in the mail :) Nevertheless I think the final mani looks good ❤ I decided to go with a nude and black mix-and-match mani (are these skittles by definition?). Polishes I used are Essie Topless&barefoot and Essence Black is back. The downside of lace stickers is that they come in strips and you have to cut them yourself. It's a bit annoying but on the other hand it gives you unlimited options how to use them. The stickers itself are very thin and a bit stretchy so you can press them to the shape of your nail. They stick nicely to the nail, I added top coat out of habit and this mani lasted me the usual four days.

Beautiful Bloggers Meetup konferenca

Pozdravljene!

Review: Lady queen wax nail art pen

Hello!

Lately I have been trying to get back to doing nail art. I'm starting with the basic stuff like my previous mani, so don't expect any miracles yet :) I've been struggling with picking and placing gems and studs on my nails so I chose wax nail art pen as one of the Lady queen products I was sent for review.

The pen comes in a pack of two. It's a white, soft wax pen that you first have to sharpen. I used a regular sharpener and it did the work just fine. The tip of the pen sticks to the gem just enough to transfer it on the nail. It does not work perfect, sometimes the gem doesn't want to stick or the pen leaves some white residue if you press too hard. However it will last you a lifetime and for the price of 0.65$ per piece I'm OK with that :)

Review: Lady Queen nail art gems

Hello!

Today is the first day of Autumn, who's excited!! Me, obviously :)

Lady Queen store offered me some new products to try out.  My first pic were this pretty cobalt blue nail art gems <3 You only get 20 of them in a pack but they're reusable and quite big so you couldn't even fit more than 20 on your nails :) Because they have much surface they stay nicely on your nail with the help of a coat of top coat or two.
Base for this mani is p2 So cool! and I stamped it with Konad Black and BM-417 plate. Nail art gems added the finally kitschy touch :)

Review: Essie polishes part 1 (Bahama mama, Watermelon and Meet me at sunset)

Hello!

It feels like forever since my last post :) But now that I have more time I hope my blogging schedule will go back to normal. Back in the Summer I got a lovely surprise from Essie Slovenija, they sent me 6 polishes to keep me company during the Summer. Today I'm gonna show you the first three beauties; Essie Bahama mama, Essie Watermelon and Essie Meet me at sunset.

Review: BPS Lace necklace stickers

Hello!

I am so happy to announce that yesterday I passed my last exam! I couldn't be happier that it's all over. The last obligation I have now is master's thesis defense presentation which I'll do on Friday so wish me luck *.*

On to the nail stuff; today I have a mani, that I was not a fan of, it happens sometimes :( Born pretty store sent me these stickers a while ago. They're thin but still a bit noticeable on the nail since they're not decals. I decided to try them over a bright red base. For some reason this combination did not work well on me and as a bonus, most of my photos came out crappy. Since I was really busy the past few weeks, I still kept the mani on for about 4 days and the stickers didn't budged. Next time I wear this it will be over a nude base, hope I will like them better then.

Review: ZJ07 stamping plate

Hello!

Long time no post but what can I do about it (other than post more hehe). This will hopefully soon go back to normal.
Today I'm going to show you a stamping plate I got sent from Born pretty store  that disappointed me a little bit which rarely happens. ZJ07 stamping plate looks amazing. Big images and nice selection of designes but the the images transfer poorly :( I used the same stamper, scraper and "stamping" polish I always use but some images didn't show one bit :( I checked the reviews on BPS page and some people managed to get it work. Maybe I just got a bad plate. From now on I'm gonna stick to their own line of stamping plates.

Review: Summer Halloween nails (BPS Qgirl-002 stamping plate)

Hello!
Who says Halloween only comes once a year? :) With Born pretty store Qgirl-002 stamping plate you can rock morbid nails all year round. The plate has some really "cute" designs and the quality of the plate is amazing. I used my trusted Konad black polish for stamping and all fine lines transfered perfectly.

Review: BPS duochrome holo polish 96

Hello!

Will you check this beauty out? <3 Lately I had great experience with Born pretty store polishes, especially with duochromes. This baby was no exception, one coat over black and I was in love. The formula is a bit funny, it almost looks like a sticky gel but it applied normal. The combination of holo glitter and duochrome base really makes this polish special and I'm really grateful that I had the chance to review it.

Review: nail polish/gel removing clips

Hello!

This is my second review of Lady queen products. I was very impressed with the stamping plate I showed you in my last post but unfortunately the second product didn't deliver.
Glitter looks great on nails but the removal....well we've all been there :) Usually I tackle the problem by using aluminum foil and acetone soaked pads. I've seen on a few blogs these plastic clips that substitute aluminum foil. I was very intrigued and happy when I saw them on Lady queen page. But unfortunately my happiness went away when I got them in the mail box :( As you can see, they are way too big and I would need huge pieces of cotton to make it work. On their page the clips looked a bit different on the photos, hey were different sizes which I think is weird. I really wanted this to work because the idea behind it is great.

Do any of you have a good experience with clamps like this?

China glaze Frostbite

Hello!

What better time to wear China glaze Frostbite than Summer? :) It's a bit chilly ATM but I wore this in the middle of a heat wave.
This is one of my favourite China glaze shades, a metallic cobalt blue that has that "lit from within" feel. The formula is a bit tricky, the polish is quite sheer and you get bald spots. I have two thick coats on but looking at the photos, I could use a third coat too. Other than that, Frostbite is a winner in my book <3

Review: Dark webs (Lady queen stamping plate Hehe 046)

Hello!
A while ago I was contacted by a new online store Lady queen and they offered to send me two products of my choice in exchange for an honest review.
The first product was Hehe 046 stamping plate. I mainly chose it for the skulls and the spider webs. Luckily I was not disappointed, the whole plate stamps very well, even the fine lines transfer as they should.
For this mani I started with a black base on all nails. The topper is NYC Rock muse Smokey top coat and the stamping was made with Barry M Silver.
I used a new top coat with this mani, Essence The gel nail polish top coat. I can't tell about the lasting power cause everything usually stays well on my nails but I did notice it didn't smudge any of the stamping so that's a big plus.

p2 Dress code: trendy

Hello!

I haven't had any texture on my nails in a very long time so I decided to find p2 Dress code: trendy in my stash. p2 describes the finish as "leather matte" and I like it, it's not a full on textured like OPI does but it's still a nice touch. I needed two coats and it dried really fast. Too bad p2 is not available in Slovenia, DM please get on this :)

Review: Essence Fun Fair TE

Hello!

As we all know Essence is one of my favourite and most used brands. You can imagine how ecstatic I was when Essence Slovenija offered Slovenian bloggers to test some products from a secret upcoming collection. That collection was Essence Fun fair and I was lucky to get Ring around the rosy blush and Candylicious cotton candy nails powder.

Review: Makeup revolution #Liphug lipstick in Who we are!

Hello!

A while ago Makeup revolution sent me one of their #Liphug lipstick in the shade Who we are!
Now that I've had it for a while I can finally write a proper review about his little gem <3 Let's start with the packaging, it's a tall black tube and I like it since I'm not a fan of tacky packaging. The shade that I got, Who we are! is a bight blue toned red that would suit many different skin tones. The formula is extremely creamy and moisturising. It's great for not drying out your lips but it does have a downfall - I'm always scared of smearing lip products all over my face and with a creamy formula like this it's more likely to happen. That's why I usually prefer matte formulas for bright or dark colors. I haven't had any accidents with this lipstick but I'm always very careful :) Despite being so creamy, Who we are! has quite the staying power, you lose some product by eating or drinking but it fades out evenly and leaves a strong stain behind.
For only 3,95€ this is a very nice product. I do like the fomula and if I picked another shade I would definitely go for a pinky nude <3

Avon Red velvet

Hello!

Another quick post, this beautiful nail polish is Avon Red velvet and I won it in Adjusting beauty's giveaway. Thanks again Petra! <3
Avon Red velvet is a darkened shimmery red, not the most original shade but a very classic and popular one. It's really opaque, you could wear it with just one coat but two coats give it a beautiful depth. Sadly my mani bubbled a bit cause of the summer heat but it was still a great one to wear.

Review: Born Pretty Chameleon Nail Polish 205

Hello!

I feel like it's been ages since I updated my blog. Sometimes life get in the way and even though blogging is my favourite hobby it's still just a hobby. Sometimes I have to prioritize and currently finishing my degree is what I focus on. I'm still gonna blog cause I love it, post just might get a bit sparse from time to time. Now on to the good stuff - amazing nail polish!

Born Pretty Chameleon Nail Polish 205 is the last of the four products that I was sent by Born pretty store. It looks as amazing in the bottle as it does on nail <3 The polish has a strong purple to green shift with gold, orange and blue flashes. I could look at it for day, in fact I did since I didn't wanna take it off :) The polish itself is pretty sheer so I layered it over black. It truly is an amazing polish but in my opinion on the pricier side, 6 ml cost a bit under 13 €, which to me is a lot (Essence and Catrice girl here :) But if you can justify it, I say go for it!

Essence Arriba! Red corazon

Hello!

I was on the hunt for Essence Arriba trend edition cause Miss Shivers needed some products #Inathepolishbountyhunter As a bounty reward I got Essence Arriba Red corazon polish. I probably wouldn't get it for myself (I'm on a no buy anyway) because in the bottle it looks like a typical red shimmer at first glance. But there's much more to it and it'd actually pretty unique in my stash. Red corazon has a metallic base, filled with sparkles which makes it look crazy under strong light ❤ The consistency is a bit on the thick side but I still needed two coats.  Currently I'm still wearing it so I can't tell you how long lasting it is but it's looking good on its second day :)

Review: Born pretty store spike studs

Hello!

Original title, yes I know :) I've been waiting to try out a mani using spike studs and Born pretty store kindly offered to send me some. I chose a dark silver ones but after doing this mani I kinda wish I picked the silver ones because these are almost too dark for black nail polish. I need to test them out with some neon pink too ❤

For this mani studs I used one coat of black polish and after it dried completely I put over a thin coat of Essence Gel nails at home Clear gel top coat. Before curing the gel polish with an UV light I placed the spikes on with a tweezers. This is a great way for securing any studs or rhinestones. The spike studs stayed on for a day and a half, then I slowly started losing them. I wouldn't say this mani is durable and perfect for daily wear but it's a great way to spice up your look for special occasions or just because you're feeling like it.

Review: I heart makeup Nail geek Into the night

Hello!

A while ago I was sent two I heart makeup Nail geek polishes and the second one I got is Into the night, a cobal blue <3
It's very similar to Furious in terms of quality and application which means the formula is great, very pigmented and thin. Again I'd needed only one coat but for blogging purposes anded up with two.I'm really impressed with the quality of this polish.

Odtenek Into the night najdeš tukaj.

Review: I heart makeup Nail geek Furious

Hello!

A while ago I was sent two I heart makeup Nail geek polishes and my first pick was this gorgeous red creme polish that goes by the name Furious, which is exactly what I was as I was filling my nails down :) I'm really impressed with the quality of this polish. The formula is perfect, very pigmented and thin. I have two thin coats in this photos but I could easily get away with one thick coat. They staying power of this babies is amazing too and they're cheap so it's a win win situation. The only downfall is their limited range (at least to a polish junkie like myself), it's mostly cremes and not much crazy/unique shades.

Review: Born pretty store nail guides sticker

Hello!

If you remember my chevron mani I did a while ago, I liked stamping designs because I thought nail stickers take too much time and effort. Being the blogger that I am I obviously had to try the stickers too :) Born pretty store sent me a pack of their nail guide stickers, which are available as separate designs too.

They're easy to work with, they're made from paper but don't tear easily. The glue is fairly strong so if you use them over older mani be careful not to press them too hard on your nail otherwise they can pull off the polish beneath.

Here are two manis made with BPS nail guide stickers  :)

Review: Born pretty store Color changing nail polish 103

Hello!

Even though I'm technically an adult I'm a big kid at heart. That could explain why I love wearing color changing nail polish and playing with it. Born pretty store offers a few different shades and I chose103, a baby blue to lilac one.
Application was good, the polish has a great brush but the formula is on the thin side, I needed three coats to reach full opacity. Adding quick drying top coat didn't interfere with color changing ability which is a big plus for me.
This polish will work even better in the winter and I'll wear it again in the summer when I visit the pool.

My nail growth cycle aka shit happens :)

Hello!

Lately I got the feeling that my nails were growing crazy fast. I couldn't leave it alone so I decided to document it :) Disclaimer: yes I know my nails are stained, I use base coat everytime and they still look like that. I don't care since they're always polished. This post is more for me than it is for you, my readers, but I still thought I'd share it :)

Spring roses

Hello!

It's time to clean up my picture volt again so today I'm showing you a very old mani. It's actually so old I can't even find these rose water decals on Born pretty store site :) Bases are Kiko 245, a gorgeous plumy shimmer and Coral 181, my go to pink. I'm not sure I like the combo with the decals but the polishes on their own are enough for me to love this.

Now that I'm looking and these photos I kinda like the old black fabric material background better then the current paper one. Which one do you prefer?

Review: Everyday makeup look featuring Avon

Hello!

A while ago Avon offer to send me a few of their products to test out and as a makeup junkie I could not say no :) I got three products that are perfect for creating an "everyday look".  First I have to say that I love the cardboard packaging, I really wish they would use the design on the actual products too. What the cardboard hides is a metallic gold packaging which looks very classy but you get fingerprints everywhere :(

Polish Alcoholic Fireworks Galaxy

Hello!

Today I have a very special polish for you, Polish Alcoholic Fireworks Galaxy. The name is very suiting as you'll be able to see in a shit-ton of photos posted below :) I just couldn't help myself and not post so many of them. From the official Etsy page: 'Fireworks Galaxy' is a clear base packed with ultra chrome flakies that vary in flake size. This can be layered over any desired color but really pops over black undies. These flakies are delicate creatures and therefore lay flat on the nail." This says it all, Fireworks galaxy is a great polish and very easy to work with. On photos I have two thin coats over black and the flakies really lay flat on the nail, I wouldn't even need top coat. I noticed that with glittery Half sack from one of my previous posts too, I'm really curious what kind of polish base they use :) This just might be one of my fave toppers <3

Black skull

Hello!

Black is always going to be my favourite nail (and everything else) color <3 If it comes in a badass bottle as this skull one then even better :) This beauty was a part of a bday gift I got from Gin and I love it as much as I love her. Polish has no name and even no brand but if I remember correctly, I think she got it at Tedi. Two coats, no top coat, perfection <3

Polish Alcoholic Half sack

Hello!

Today I have a special polish for you, my first Polish Alcoholic polish. I got it as a gift from my man for my birthday as he sneakily ordered 3 of them without my knowing. Description on their Etsy page says "Half Sack is a blackened blue base packed with fine blue to red duo chrome glitter and bright blue shimmer. Opaque in two to three coats, depending on application." Unfortunately the color shift was not visible on my nails but it's an amazing polish anyway. It was opaque in two coats and it was really smooth even before I put top coat on. The removal was surprisingly easy, I didn't need to use the foil method, I just held the cotton pad on my nails for a few seconds. Check out this blue beauty <3

Spring water marble

Hello!
You know when you really like the way something looks but you hate doing it? No, I'm not talking about exes, I'm talking about water marbling :) If you're been reading my blog for a while perhaps you remember my rage when I did a water marble and then swore I'm never doing it again. No, I didn't cave in, I found a way around it. I've found a new water marble technique online where you don't have to dunk fingers in the water and deal with the nasty cleanup. You just drip the polish in water, make the design and then just let it sit. In a few hours the nail polish completely dries and you can gently pick the thin layer of dried polish from the water surface. Then you just cut it into decals and apply it over a slightly wet polish on your nails. You have some clean up left but nothing drastic.
I wanted something happy and colorful. For water marbling I used Bourjois Green fizz, Kiko 336, Color club Wink wink twinkle and Depend 035 (same if I didn't cause it didn't show). I didn't wanna overkill it with marble so I combined it with Green fizz on some nails.
I loved this mani and I even got a few compliments on it which rarely happens in real life, I usually get passive aggressive ones haha :)
