Roses of gold

Here I go, with the last post of this year. I wish you all the best in 2013 and I hope you will have a great New Year's Eve :*

Now on to the nails; this is the reason I bought Essence A piece of forever. It's perfect for stamping, especially over a black base. For the black I used Essence Fatal and then stamped my favourite pattern in the world, roses from Konad plate m65.

Love the combination, whether it's shinny....

...or matte. I'm so not obsessed with matte nails lately, right? :)

Which one do you like better? And what's gonna be your New Year's Eve mani? I need some inspiration :)

Alessandro Go magic! Crystal punk in Blue rocks the club

Damn that's one long title :) Here I go again with another post out of the posting order. I figured I might as well post it now, while this duos are still available. Before I bought it I looked online and there was no swatches  to be found. Hate it when that happens :)

I was really on the fence with this one, especially with no swatches. This set is 9,95€  and while it's the standard Alessandro price, I thought it was a lot for two 5ml polishes, especially when you really only want one (I'm sorry black creme :) But what the hell, I deserved something and this was a Christmas gift for myself. As you can see here, you get a black base and flakies (blue, green, turquoise or orange). The black base is pretty good. I like Alessandro stiff brush, the polish itself is a one coater and it dries very quickly. The flakies topcoat was what I had doubts about, I was scared that the flakies would be too sparse and they kinda are, at least I wish there would be more of it. What you see on photos is one thick, dabbed on coat. Also, the flakies aren't thin and smooth like the Nfu.oh ones or Essence Waking up in Vegas. They're the plastic, mylar type like Color club Covered in diamonds. A thick coat of topcoat fix that problem. I really do like the end result but still think it's a bit pricey for what you get. That's probably because Essence spoils me rotten with their cheap polishes:)

Ruby kisses Crazy night out

I wish I had any crazy nights out but lately I've been all work, no play. Guess I'm living vicariously through my nail polish :)
I love this combination, reminds me of  by Revlon, only better. This is one coat of Ruby kisses glitter topcoat in Crazy night out over a black base. You can also tell that I'm really into matte look right now :)

Zoya Veruschka

Ahh Veruschka <3 She was a big lemming of mine. I missed her when that collection came out but luckily I got her on eBay. Veruschka is a gorgeous dark hunter green matte polish. It's packed with simmers so it doesn't look flat or dull. Application is a bit tricky like with most matte polish. This is two coats and it surprisingly lasted on me quite a few days. Must try to wear it next time with topcoat.

Movin' on Glitterastic!

Nothing to see here :)

December is holding me pretty tight. This time I decided for something flashy yet muted down. Essence Movin' on is from their discontinued line. Dark neutral beige, not exactly nude but still in that category. Opaque in two coats with the perfect old brush Essence used to make. I started to paint my nails and realized it's too bland for me so I added an accent nail, Essence Glittertastic from the Crazy good times TE. It needed to be layered over a silver base cause it's too sheer on it's own. Surprisingly, I quite liked the end result :)

ELF Cranberry

It's finally starting to feel like December to me, especially with the newly fallen 30 cm of snow. I adore snow and I'm always a happy little gosling when it snows.
So I have another December appropriate mani, ELF Cranberry. It's a pretty shimmery red/berry colour. A bit sheer so it needed three coats but I am willing to put up with that for a pretty colour :)

Gold glitter puke

It's December y'all :) So what fit's better than some holiday gold and glitter?
Gold isn't exactly my colour and when I first saw swatches of Essence A piece of forever, my response was ewww :) But then I read it was good for stamping and I do like gold in small details, so I was like OK, it's cheap, I'll get it.
Don't know what is it about this polish but I just couldn't let it go and I tried to make it work as a full mani. A piece of forever has better formula than others from the Breaking dawn part 2 TE. Good thing is that it's a one coater, bad things are the brush and the frostiness. I didn't like the result of A piece of forever on it's own so I added some gold glitter on top, this is one coat of Make it golden and My sparkling acrobat, both by Essence. Not so bad after all :)
